2026 4-star CB Jamarion Vincent names top eight schools

2026 4-star CB Jamarion Vincent names top eight schools

One of the top rising junior cornerbacks in the nation has cut his list of top schools down to eight.

On Sunday afternoon, Waco (Texas) Connally four-star CB Jamarion Vincent announced on X that he’s trimmed his recruitment down and is now considering Baylor, Houston, Kansas State, Nebraska, Purdue, TCU, Texas and Texas Tech.

Vincent is the No. 316 overall prospect and No. 24 corner in the 2026 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He’s also the No. 39 player in Texas.

The 6-foot-2, 165-pounder is a Swiss-Army knife for the Connally Cadets. As a sophomore, Vincent threw for 856 yards and nine touchdowns while also rushing for 841 yards and 11 scores. He also racked up 20 tackles and three interceptions on the defensive side of the ball.

So far in his junior campaign, Vincent has over 570 total yards and nine TDs, six of which have come on the feet. Connally is currently 3-1 this season.

Earlier this month, Vincent took a game visit to Austin for Texas’ dominant victory over Colorado State. The top-ranked Longhorns offered back in June and are making an impression on the in-state talent, who was also on campus at the end of July.

“It really felt good to know that, dang, Texas really likes me,” Vincent told InsideTexas back in the summer. “That offer felt right. It was a lot of emotions. Like, I couldn’t believe I got that offer.”

Texas’ 2026 recruiting class already features an elite defensive back, as Carrollton (Ga.) four-star safety Zelus Hicks committed on Sept. 12. Hicks is the No. 33 overall prospect and No. 3 safety in the 2026 cycle.

“Things moved quickly with Texas,” Hicks told On3 upon his decision. “They came out in the spring and offered, they came heavy after me, and after that visit, I felt great about Texas. I liked the school, I meshed with coach Blake Gideon, they just kept applying pressure like no other school and I made my decision.

“They tell me I am No. 1 on their board and they are No. 1 on my board, so it is a perfect match. Me and my dad have been talking about it and I made my decision earlier this week.”

Texas’ 2026 class currently features three commitments: Fort Lauderdale (Fla.) American Heritage four-star quarterback Dia Bell, Hicks and Pearland (Texas) Shadow Creek four-star wide receiver Chris Stewart.
