It’s visit season in the world of women’s college basketball, and Kentucky brought in a visitor from right within the Bluegrass. On Sunday, Danville Christian star forward Grace Mbugua shared to social media that she had just wrapped up an official visit to Kentucky. She took an unofficial visit to Kentucky back in the summer as well.

Kenny Brooks has yet to receive a commitment in the 2025 class, but Mbugua could be first domino to fall. Her high school coach, Billy Inmon, spoke with KSR and he touched on why Kentucky could be a good landing spot for her.

“I think, obviously, proximity is great,” Inmon explained. “She’s made a lot of friends and [she’s] got a second family out of it by coming here. Other than that, I think it was the fact that Coach Brooks really made sure that she knew that he really believed in her and believed in the impact that she can make there at Kentucky.”

Inmon added, “The staff has been very kind, but I think the biggest thing is just making her feel like they really believed in her and that they really wanted her. I think they casted a vision for her on what kind of impact she could make on the overall program at Kentucky.” Inmon went on to say that he thinks that Mbugua could be a “star” at UK.
