Chiefs star Patrick Mahomes addresses potential knee injury following Falcons win

Chiefs star Patrick Mahomes addresses potential knee injury following Falcons win

The Kansas City Chiefs barely survived by the skin of their teeth on Sunday Night Football, pulling out a 22-17 win over the Atlanta Falcons. There was plenty of controversy with a critical pass interference call that was missed late in the fourth quarter. But once again, Patrick Mahomes and company pulled it out, after he took a knee in the final seconds to run out the clock.

When Mahomes went to the ground to slide in the final seconds, it was a very awkward slide because his foot got stuck in the ground as he was trying to go down. The Chiefs star quarterback appeared to injure himself a little bit. Here’s the video of the play below.

Following the game, Mahomes spoke with NBC’s Melissa Stark on the field. “Yeah, the turf got me, man. I was trying to just take a knee and my foot got stuck. But I’m all good. I’m just glad we got a win,” Mahomes explained.
