A rescue dog and a first-time entrepreneur are behind Sweet Pearls Ice Cream Shop

A rescue dog and a first-time entrepreneur are behind Sweet Pearls Ice Cream Shop
Read Time:1 Minute, 23 Second

Say hello to a new ice cream shop in DFW!

Sweet Pearls, which opened this summer in Garland, is named after the owner’s (Will) dog, Pearl, who was rescued after being a dumped by the lake near his house. Pearl showed up around Will’s home while he was recovering from a terrible cycling accident, and she became Will’s new best friend.

As Will began to recover and get mobility back, he gained an interest in making ice cream at home. After some time, he knew he was ready to open his very own store and share his love of ice cream and cool flavors with the town.

To honor Pearl for all her emotional support during his recovery, Will named his new ice cream shop Sweet Pearls. She’s even the CCO – chief canine officer!

Sweet Pearls Ice Cream

In addition to ice cream, the staff is scooping ice cream sandwiches and tacos. Here are some of our favorites picks:

  • strawberry cheesecake ice cream taco with cheesecake made from scratch
  • cookie butter ice cream taco
  • pralines and cream sandwich between an oatmeal raisin cookie
  • white chocolate macadamia nut cookie sandwich

And don’t miss the signature Sweet Pearl flavor available in a cup or cone. It’s a delightful scoop of sweet cream with chewy sugar cookies.

Pearl has been thriving in her home with Will and his family for the last three years, and we love to see it!

Sweet Pearls is located at 305 Coneflower Dr in Garland in the Firewheel Town Center.

This visit was gifted, and all opinions are our own. If you are thinking about getting a pet, please considering adopting!
