OU women’s basketball: Sooners beat Southern 76-44 in season opener
The OU women’s basketball team started its season with a dominant 76-44 win over Southern.
No. 10 Oklahoma, which returns over 90% of its production from last season, looked like one of the best teams in the country on Monday. But it wasn’t one of the Sooners’ returning veterans that led the way. It was Oregon State transfer center Raegan Beers, who finished with 21 points, 14 rebounds and two blocks. Beers was considered the top player in the portal this past offseason and on Monday, she showed why.
Sophomore Sahara Williams also had a big night, totaling 19 points and six rebounds. And senior Skylar Vann also reached double-digits, scoring 12 points and grabbing seven rebounds. View the full box score here.
OU will play again on Friday, Nov. 8 at the Lloyd Noble Center against Virginia.
