WHAT’S UP TODAY
First up this morning in your Miami Hurricanes news?
Of course, we had you fully covered from Saturday’s game with Gary Ferman’s column, post-game interviews with Mario Cristobal and players, our position by position grading column, key takeaways from the game, Pro Football Focus grades, Gary Ferman answering all your post-game questions on the message board, our game analysis story and much more.
And stay tuned today for coaches Mario Cristobal, Lance Guidry and Shannon Dawson sharing their thoughts … plus it’s basketball media day and we’ll have your season preview with Jim Larranaga and players as well as inside looks with what players are saying about the coming season.
This morning Matt Shodell also shares his thougths on this team … including a closer look at the remaining opponents which show there’s a great chance Miami can finish undefeated.
In recruiting don’t miss our comprehensive list of expected visitors for the Miami-Florida State game, with notes on key targets.
There’s also our weekly Live From The Crib with top recruit updates from Booker T.’s 27-14 win over Southridge.
We have an update with Plantation (Fla.) American Heritage 2026 WR Brandon Bennett. Over the past few weeks, communication between Bennett and the Hurricanes has been fluid, and he plans on attending Miami’s matchup against Florida State.
Also find out the latest with priority Tyrone (Ga.) Sandy Creek four-star 2026 running back Amari Latimer.
Suwanee (Ga.) Collins Hill four-star 2026 defensive tackle Deuce Geralds still has plenty of schools high on his radar, but Miami is already standing out.
And Marianna (Fla.) four-star 2026 running back Amari Clemons, the No. 191 overall prospect and No. 19 running back in next year’s cycle, is feeling like an early Hurricanes priority. He is hoping to visit Miami for the Hurricanes’ game against Florida State and updates the latest.
Another likely visitor this weekend is Pembroke Pines (Fla.) West Broward three-star cornerback Shmar Akande. Despite his surprising summer commitment to the Toledo Rockets, Miami head coach Mario Cristobal, and the Hurricanes have not stopped recruiting the local defensive back. Get the latest there.
Since the start of the high school football season this fall, it may be harder to find a 2025 prospect who has seen his stock rise higher than Pittsburgh (Pa.) Central Catholic four-star athlete Bradley Gompers. In the last few weeks, the Duke commit has received offers from Ole Miss, Michigan, NC State, Pen State, Vanderbilt, Virginia, and most recently Miami. And he may visit. Find out about that.
Plus we catch up with Tampa (Fla.) Armwood four-star 2025 receiver Tyler Williams. He has remained committed to Georgia, but the No. 190 overall prospect in the On300 knows he still wants to visit Miami at least once before the Early Signing Period Dec. 4.
And, as always, stay tuned today for any news that may come up.

MESSAGE BOARD POST OF THE DAY
Mario has grown so much as a coach….. Posted by CANESKINGOFCFB
No way in hell he would have ever gone for it on 4th down those 3 times in prior years… His record after bye weeks is horrendous, but he played to win today, he knows the defense lacks major dudes in the secondary. Our best defense was our offense. For the first time I can remember, Mario didn’t go conservative, let the best unit on the team win the game, and move on. We HAVE to sign some elite ball hawk cbs and safeties like we have coming in this class, and I think at least 3 or 4 will start immediately next season. Unfortunately this will be our season the rest of the way, offense all the way. At least Mario is letting Dawson go all out and keep us alive, that is completely contrary to Mario in the past. He deserves credit for that….
