Texas drops to No. 6 in the Coaches Poll
The Longhorns are now ranked behind two one-loss teams.
As expected, the 30-15 loss by the then-No. 1 Texas Longhorns in Austin to the then-No. 5 Georgia Bulldogs played poorly in the polls with the Longhorns dropping to No. 6 in the Coaches Poll released on Sunday.
Of the five teams ranked in front of Texas, three of them — No. 1 Oregon, No. 3 Penn State, and No. 5 Miami — are undefeated and two of them — No. 2 Georgia and No. 4 Ohio State — have one loss.
Elsewhere in the SEC, LSU is No. 7, Tennessee is No. 8, Texas A&M is No. 14, Alabama is No. 15, Missouri is No. 17, Ole Miss is No. 18, and Vanderbilt, the next opponent for head coach Steve Sarkisian’s team, is now in the poll at No. 25, meaning that the Horns no longer have any current top-25 victories heading to Nashville. After ranking No. 22 last week, Michigan dropped out of poll after losing to No. 21 Illinois.
