Top 2025 recruit Danielle Osho commits to Miami

Danielle Osho, a 6-foot-2 small forward from Dacula (Georgia) Hebron Christian Academy has committed to the Miami Hurricanes, she told On3. Osho chose the Canes over Georgia Tech, Mississippi State, Vanderbilt, Auburn and Pittsburgh

“I first fell in love with their coaching staff,” Osho told On3. “I feel like, at first, when they started recruiting me, the first kind of thoughts you get are like, ‘Oh, they kind of started recruiting me late, so I don’t know how I feel about them.’ But when I went on my official visit I really did fall in love with the school and the coaching staff and all the things that they had planned for me.”

Osho connected with the coaching staff, enjoyed the academic opportunities and saw herself fitting into the Hurricanes system.

“I feel like I can fit into their system and how they play, because [Tricia Cullop] likes to play fast, and she likes everybody to share the ball and get the ball moving, which is something that I would like to do as well,” Osho told On3. “I feel like I can use my versatility as much as I can for that team and I’m just really excited.”

One factor that Osho prioritized in her decision is the program’s ability to develop her game and get her WNBA-ready.

“I feel like all of the coaches know what it takes to get to the pros and be able to compete at that level,” Osho said. “They get you ready for what it takes to be somebody that can play in the WNBA.”

Although she’s a season away from arriving at Miami, she’s excited to help build the Hurricanes program up when she gets on campus.

“What makes me most excited is the fact that not a lot of people necessarily know Miami yet for women’s basketball,” Osho said. “I feel like what Coach Cullop is doing and with her being new to the scene and new to Coral Gables, I feel like they’re gonna really build something special down there, and that’s something that I really want to be a part of.”
