Florida State (1-5, 1-4) could only muster 22 rushing yards and were outgained 500-250 as Clemson bested its rivals 29-13 for their eighth win over the Seminoles in nine years.

Afterwards, Florida State head coach Mike Norvell pointed to miscues that led to long down & distance situations and that “we did not do a good enough job” in executing the things that were within their control.

“We have to do the simple things better,” said Norvell.

FSU’s next opponent, Duke, suffered its first loss of the season on Saturday night at Georgia Tech.

The Seminoles and Blue Devils will square off in Durham on Friday, October 18 at 7 p.m. on ESPN2

Florida State added 14 players from the transfer portal and a high school recruiting class that finished 14th in the 2024 cycle. The 2025 early signing period for prep signees begins Wednesday December 4 and closes on December 6.

The transfer portal will open for business Monday, Dec. 9, 2024, and closes Tuesday, Jan. 7, 2025.
