In-state 2025 LB Josh Smith locks in two visits to South Carolina

Irmo (SC) Dutch Fork linebacker Josh Smith says that NC State is his leader. Beginning on Saturday, Shane Beamer and the Gamecocks are working to change that.

The coveted in-state prospect will be in Columbia for South Carolina’s game against Ole Miss. He tells On3 he’ll be back later in the fall on an official visit the weekend of Nov. 2 when they play Texas A&M.

“The atmosphere and that defense is electric at all all levels,” Smith told On3.

The 6-foot-3, 218-pound Smith will be at Clemson in two Saturdays.

“Their linebacker play has been amazing for the last couple of seasons and they show love towards my school,” Smith said.

Smith adds that Ole Miss is running No. 3 on his list.

On3 ranks Smith as the nation’s No. 43 linebacker. South Carolina currently has On3’s No. 24 ranked recruiting class.
