ScoopDuck Roundtable: Other Games Worth Watching

ScoopDuck Roundtable: Other Games Worth Watching

With Oregon playing on Friday your Saturday could be wide open for any and all college football. It’s a bit of a lackluster weekend overall but there are still some interesting games worth watching.

I don’t know about any of you but I’m going to do my best to sit on the couch and take in some ball.

As we inch closer to kickoff, here are the games we are most interested in watching through the weekend.

Max Torres: No. 12 Ole Miss @ South Carolina

Ole Miss was upset by Kentucky last week and South Carolina could be one of the worst teams for them to draw after that game. QB LaNorris Sellers is back from injury and South Carolina feels like a bit of a dangerous team after all those fireworks we saw a few weeks ago against LSU. But LSU isn’t that great, so who knows? I don’t predict an upset here but I think this could be a good game because South Carolina fans show up and create a wild environment.

Collin King: Iowa @ Ohio State

This game likely won’t be close but I’m mostly interested in this game to prepare for Oregon’s game against Ohio State the following week. Iowa has a very good running back in Kaleb Johnson, who has rushed for nearly 700 yards this season already. Iowa is likely to be pretty one-dimensional but I want to see how Ohio State plays against Iowa’s run game and also how Ohio State handles a top notch defense.

Linden Hile: Missouri @ Texas A&M

This feels like a contest that will go a long way in deciding the momentum each team carries the rest of the way. Both have put together four wins and Texas A&M is the only one with a loss, coming in week one against Notre Dame.

Both have looked good this season and have reason for optimism this weekend. A win for the Aggies would assuage fans’ concerns about what they saw against Notre Dame early on while another win for Missouri would vault them up to 5-0, tied for first place in the SEC with Alabama and Texas.

Jhop: Miami @ Cal

I love that gameday chose this venue. And I love even more that Marshawn Lynch is the guest picker. It’s going to be a legendary segment to start college football Saturday. Mario Cristobal makes a return out West with a team that has a CLEAR path to going undefeated this season. But Cal might just make this one interesting. Cross-country trip, 7:30 PM PST kick, Pac-12 after dark, what could go wrong?
