Falcons fan caught throwing punches in background of KhaDarel Hodge celebration video

Falcons fan caught throwing punches in background of KhaDarel Hodge celebration video

The Atlanta Falcons beat the Tampa Bay Buccaneers 36-30 in overtime Thursday night, improving to 3-2 in the process. Despite that, not all Falcons fans were happy after the game.

Atlanta receiver KhaDarel Hodge posted a video selfie following his game-winning touchdown catch.

“Hey Atlanta, we here,” Hodge said. “I don’t even know what to say, bro. I’m trying to hold back tears, but God is real. Y’all stayed behind us all night, man. We’re on to the next. What a game. For the A baby.”

As KhaDarel Hodge spoke, there appeared to be a brawl happening in the stands behind him. A Falcons fan can be seen in the background throwing punches about five seconds into the video.

You can check out the wild scene below:

KhaDarel Hodge didn’t have a catch all season before catching a pair of passes Thursday night, including the game-winning 45-yard touchdown grab. He caught a short pass, turned up field and weaved his way through the Tampa Bay defense for a score to end the game.

He finished the evening with two catches for 67 yards, including the touchdown.

Hodge is in his seventh season in the NFL after going undrafted out of Prairie View A&M. He has also spent time with the Rams, Browns and Lions.

Kirk Cousins sets Falcons franchise record in wild Atlanta overtime win against Buccaneers

The Atlanta Falcons and Tampa Bay Buccaneers delivered a classic on Thursday Night Football on Amazon Prime. And Falcons quarterback Kirk Cousins delivered the heroics when his team needed them, connecting with KhaDarel Hodge on a 45-yard game-winning touchdown strike in overtime. Not only did he lift the Falcons to a 36-30 win in overtime, but Cousins also finished with a Falcons’ franchise record of 509 passing yards.

According to Next Gen Stats, Cousins completed 42 of 58 passes for 509 yards, four touchdowns, and an interception. All 509 yards came from passes within the pocket, the most in a game in the Next Gen Stats Era (since 2016). Between the numbers, he finished completing 27 of 33 passes for 385 yards, while tossing in three touchdowns.

Cousins connected with Hodge on a 45-yard touchdown pass in overtime that won the game for the Falcons. Hodge simply spun around, and turned on the after burners, exploding right through the middle of the Tampa Bay secondary on his way to pay dirt. According to Next Gen Stats, Hodge reached a top speed of 19.70 miles per hour on his game-winner, his second fastest speed as a ball carrier in his career in the NFL.
