Jasir Rencher, a four-star small forward in the 2025 class, has committed to Texas A&M and head coach Buzz Williams, he told On3.

The 6-foot-5 senior out of Archbishop Riordan (CA) chose the Aggies over offers from LSU, New Mexico, Oklahoma, Washington, and others.

Rencher is the No. 107 overall recruit in the 2025 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Rankings. He’s also the No. 21 small forward prospect. The On3 Industry Ranking is a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.

Rencher on his commitment to Texas A&M

Jasir Rencher discussed his decision with On3.

“Choosing a school was by far the hardest thing I’ve ever had to do,” he said. “I was really down to 2 schools that both fit me really well on and off the court. But I chose Texas A&M because they were recruiting me for a long time. It’s a beautiful campus. They’re about their players. And like I said before they fit me on and off the court.”

What led to his trust in head coach Buzz Williams?

“Coach Buzz is a magnificent teacher on and off the court. He was the first high major coach to know my name and he had a belief in me since then. He also has 19 NBA players as a head coach so he knows what he’s doing and he knows what a pro looks like.”

In his own words, what type of player is Texas A&M getting in Jasir Rencher?

“I would describe my game as a two-way player, a big guard who is aggressive on both sides of the ball.”

He has a message for A&M fans.

“Just know I didn’t come here to lose. I came here to win and be an impact player. I’ll do whatever it takes to win and get to the NCAA tournament every year.”
