Weekend Worthy: Catch a kid-friendly opera about Frida Kahlo
Happy Thursday,
Raise your hand if you’ve ever considered attending an opera but never purchased a ticket.
This week, the Fort Worth Opera is offering an easy, low-stakes way to enjoy the art form with its production of “Frida Kahlo and the Bravest Girl in the World.”
The opera tells the story of a young Mexico City girl who idolizes Frida Kahlo and forms an unlikely friendship with the famous artist.
The 35-minute event is free with regular admission to the Fort Worth Botanic Garden and is a great opportunity to test the waters for kids and adults alike.
If you go, be sure to leave enough time to check out the new Kokedama Forest exhibition of bonsai seedlings or to say hi to some of the pups enjoying the garden’s regular Dog Days event.
