Newsstand: Notable Notre Dame player ratings boosts in EA Sports College Football 25

Newsstand: Notable Notre Dame player ratings boosts in EA Sports College Football 25

EA Sports released new ratings for individual players in its College Football 25 video game this week. Several Notre Dame players received notable bumps or took hits.

Here’s a look at who they were.

  • Safety Xavier Watts (94, +2)
  • RB Jeremiyah Love (86, +1)
  • RB Jadarian Price (84, +1)
  • S Adon Shuler (81, +5)
  • CB Christian Gray (80, +2)
  • LG Sam Pendleton (79, +5)
  • K Mitch Jeter (79, +2)
  • C Pat Coogan (78, -1)
  • LT Anthonie Knapp (+7)
  • TE Cooper Flanagan (77, +4)
  • OG Sullivan Absher (77, +1)
  • CB Leonard Moore (74, +5)
  • WR KK Smith (71, +5)

Watts is now tied with cornerback Benjamin Morrison for the highest overall rating on the team. Defensive tackle Howard Cross III is the only other Irish player in the top 100 overall players in the country in the game. He comes in at 90th with an overall grade of 90.

Notre Dame tweets of the day

Love got his one-point overall boost in the video game, and if the developers behind the scenes know anything about his game they ought to be boosting his blocking ratings too. He’s been exceptional as a lead-blocker for quarterback Riley Leonard this season.

Northwestern defensive back transfer Rod Heard II doesn’t get as many headlines as some of the other players in the Irish’s stacked secondary, but he earned his keep with back-to-back plays in a pivotal moment against Louisville. His timing to break up passes is textbook.

Five-star point guard and the No. 2 player in the class of 2026 Kate Harpring visited South Bend this past weekend. She’s the daughter of 11-year NBA veteran Matt Harpring, and she goes to school at the same preps program (Marist School in Atlanta) that produced former Irish safety and NFL All-Pro defensive back Kyle Hamilton.

Fighting Irish quote of the day

“There’s a lot of coaches that say they’ll do one thing, but [Micah Shrewsberry] showed me his plan and he’s done it before. I trust him and his staff. It’s a great staff. It’s a great school. It’s a culture I want to be a part of and help build.”
