Amon-Ra St. Brown attempted the first pass attempt of his career on Monday night and may not be the most effective passer in NFL history. One throw, one completion, one touchdown. Not too shabby for one of the league’s best wide receivers.

Detroit Lions offensive coordinator Ben Johnson decided to get creative in the red zone, calling a version of the Philly Special. Quarterback Jared Goff tossed the ball back to St. Brown in what initially seemed like a reverse. Before Seattle knew it, Goff was in open space and heading to the end zone.

Just the matchup you want — Goff against a linebacker — and St. Brown hit a perfect throw in stride for a touchdown. “Who had that on the bingo card?” Joe Buck asked and honestly, the answer is most likely nobody.

An incredible play to extend the Lions’ lead back to two touchdowns and send the Ford Field crowd into a frenzy. You can check out the full sequence here.

Goff has been literally perfect in the night and not just as a receiver. At the time of posting, he has completed all 15 of his throws for 225 yards and a touchdown. His receiving stat line is a good one too — one reception for seven yards and a score.

As for St. Brown, he has caught five passes for 37 yards when not dropping back to throw the ball. All five targets from Goff have resulted in receptions. With how high-scoring of an affair it’s been in Detroit, St. Brown might need another touchdown or two to secure the win.

Until then, everyone is able to enjoy a perfectly executed Philly Special. Lions fans, St. Brown, and Goff certainly enjoyed the moment. You have to imagine a ton of work went into executing the play during the week of practice. Pulling it off has to be an incredible feeling for them.
