Rashee Rice injury update: Andy Reid gives grim news on Chiefs WR
Kansas City Chiefs coach Andy Reid had bad news regarding the injury to receiver Rashee Rice. The second-year wideout went down with an apparent knee injury after teammate Patrick Mahomes accidentally hit him while attempting to make a tackle after throwing an interception.
Speaking ahead of the second half, Reid suggested that the injury was of serious nature.
“It’s not good,” he told CBS sideline reporter Tracy Wolfson.
Rice, the 2023 second round pick out of SMU, entered Sunday’s game third in the NFL with 24 receptions to go along with 288 yards and two touchdowns. His absence leaves a massive hole in the Chiefs’ receiving core, who are already without Hollywood Brown.
Kansas City will look for contributions from Travis Kelce, Xavier Worthy, Skyy Moore, Justin Watson and JuJu Smith-Schuster with Rice sidelined.
This story will be updated.
