Washington vs. Michigan odds: Early point spread released, How to Watch

Washington vs. Michigan odds: Early point spread released, How to Watch

A rematch of last year’s national championship awaits in Week 6 – although both teams look a bit different. Washington and Michigan will square off at Husky Stadium, and the early point spread has been released.

The Wolverines are a 1.5-point favorite over the Huskies, according to FanDuel. The over-under is set for 41.5 for the matchup.

Michigan and Washington are both entering new eras this season. Both teams underwent coaching changes as Jim Harbaugh returned to the NFL and Kalen DeBoer took over for Nick Saban at Alabama. That means it will be Sherrone Moore and Jedd Fisch, respectively, on the sidelines with plenty of new faces.

UM has been dealing with some quarterback questions this year after losing J.J. McCarthy to the NFL Draft. Davis Warren got the start at the beginning of the year, but Alex Orji took over for him and helped engineer a victory over Minnesota in Week 5. On the UW side, Will Rogers stayed committed after DeBoer’s departure and is the centerpiece of Fisch’s operation.

A high-powered Rutgers running game set the tone against Washington Friday night. Kyle Monangai led the way with 132 yards and a touchdown as the Scarlet Knights held on to defeat the Huskies 21-18.

Rogers had a big night, completing 26 of 36 passes for 306 yards and two touchdowns, but it wasn’t enough as the defense struggled to contain Monangai. Washington kicker Grady Gross also had a rough game, missing three field goals – including one in the final seconds that would’ve tied the game.

Michigan, meanwhile, looked strong against Minnesota in the early going Saturday afternoon. The running game remained impressive as Orji got it done with both his arm and his legs. However, the Golden Gophers made a late surge and appeared to recover the onside kick. But they were ruled offside, meaning Michigan held on for the 27-24 victory.
