Tennessee moves to a two-touchdown road favorite at Arkansas

Tennessee Football on Thursday opened as a 10.5-point favorite for Saturday night’s game at Arkansas, according to DraftKings. The line as of Sunday morning, though, has moved even more toward the Vols, who are now 14-point road favorites.

The Action Network has the consensus at 14 points, with DraftKings now at Tennessee -14 and FanDuel at -13.5.

The Vols (4-0) are coming off its first of two bye weeks this season. Arkansas (3-2) lost 21-17 to Texas A&M in Dallas on Saturday. Tennessee is 3-0 coming off bye weeks under Josh Heupel, including a pair of ranked road wins at LSU (2022) and at Kentucky (2021).

Arkansas quarterback Tyalen Green completed 23 of 41 passes for 278 yards, a touchdown and an interception in the loss Saturday against the Aggies. The Razorbacks ran 30 times for 100 yards as a team, led by Ja’Quinden Jackson’s 10 carries for 37 yards and a touchdown.

Issac TeSlaa led Arkansas in receiving with five catches for 120 yards and a touchdown. Andrew Armstrong had six catches for 72 yards. 

Texas A&M won despite having just 279 total yards, with Arkansas losing three turnovers on the day.

The Razorbacks are coming off a 24-14 win at Auburn on Saturday. The Hogs trailed UAB 17-3 early at home two weeks ago before rallying for a 37-27 win. 

Oklahoma State rallied from a 21-7 deficit in the second quarter on September 14 to beat Arkansas 39-31 in overtime, after the Hogs opened the season with a 70-0 win over Arkansas Pine Bluff.

Arkansas is 2-2 against the spread this season, covering 50.5 points against Pine Bluff, 10 points at Oklahoma State and winning outright as a 2.5-point underdog at Auburn. Arkansas was a 22.5-point favorite at home against UAB.

Vols are 4-0 against the spread this season

Tennessee is 4-0 against the spread this season. The Vols closed as a 5.5-point favorite at Oklahoma, winning 25-15 Saturday night at Oklahoma Memorial Stadium. 

Tennessee was a 49-point favorite over Kent State in the 71-0 win. The Vols were 8.5-point favorites against North Carolina State in the 51-10 win in Charlotte in The Duke’s Mayo Classic. They were 39.5-point favorites in the 69-3 win over Chattanooga on August 31.

After the trip to Arkansas, a second straight road game to start the SEC schedule, Tennessee returns home for four straight home games and five home games out of the next six on schedule.

Florida comes to Knoxville on October 12, before Alabama on October 19. After a second bye week on October 26, the Vols host Kentucky on November 2 and Mississippi State on November 9.

The regular-season schedule closes with games at Georgia (November 16), at home against UTEP (November 23) and at Vanderbilt (November 30).
