Keon Coleman scores first NFL touchdown against Jaguars

Buffalo Bills (2-0) rookie receiver Keon Coleman hauled in his first career NFL touchdown catch in Monday’s Week 3 home contest against the Jacksonville Jaguars (0-2).

Coleman was on the receiving end of a 24-yard strike from quarterback Josh Allen to give the Bills a 20-3 lead in the second quarter. The score capped off an eight-play, 68-yard drive.

Coleman, the second-round pick in the 2024 NFL Draft, is off to a good start in his third professional game after failing to get on the stat sheet in Week 2 against the Miami Dolphins (1-2). The former Florida State standout was Buffalo’s leading receiver in the Week 1 win over the New York Jets (2-1), hauling in four receptions for 51 yards.

Keon Coleman off to fast start in Bills career

Allen some high praise for Coleman during training camp.

“When he was going through his college tape, I thought he was kind of a mix between like a Michael Thomas and a Dez Bryant,” Allen said. “Obviously big guy, great body control, and I think Dez and Michael Thomas have that great body control. I think he’s up there with them. I think he’s the best body control that I’ve seen in terms of running to the right, jumping off his right and getting left, and then running left side, jumping off his left, and getting right. I think that’s his basketball background.

“But again, he’s 6-foot-4, I think he plays faster than what his 40 [yard dash] time said. I know everybody knocks him for that, but he’s a gamer, too, and he loves the game of football. I’m excited to throw to him.”
