Notre Dame LB commit Anthony Sacca invited to All-American Bowl

Notre Dame LB commit Anthony Sacca invited to All-American Bowl

Philadelphia St. Joseph’s Prep School class of 2025 linebacker and Notre Dame commit Anthony Sacca announced Saturday major honors that he received. He was invited to play in the 2025 All-American Bowl.

The AAB is considered the most prestigious postseason annual all-star game that’s held in San Antonio, Texas. The game will be played on Jan. 11, 2025.

The Irish have three other commits who are expected to play in the All-American Bowl in Chicago Simeon EDGE Christopher Burgess, Wallingford (Conn.) Choate Rosemary Hall offensive tackle Will Black and Lucedale (Miss.) George County quarterback Deuce Knight.

Sacca has yet to formally commit to playing in the game, but it should just be a matter of time before that takes place.

He ranks as the No. 282 overall player and No. 27 linebacker nationally according to the 2025 On3 Industry Ranking.

The 6-2.5, 225-pounder  posted 67 tackles and 2 interceptions during his junior season, during which St. Joseph Prep had a 13-1 record and captured a second-straight Pennsylvania 6A state title. His team’s only loss on the year was a season-opening setback against Bradenton (Fla) IMG Academy, 17-14. St. Joseph Prep finished the season No. 8 in the MaxPreps national top 25.

He earned 2023 MaxPreps High School Football Junior All-America second-team honors.

As a sophomore, Sacca recorded 50 tackles, 1 sack, 1 interception, 1 forced fumble and 1 fumble recovered. He was named to the 2023 and 2022 Pa. Football Writers’ Class 6A All-State Team.

The elder Sacca was drafted in the second round of the 1992 NFL Draft by the Phoenix Cardinals. After a short stint in the NFL, Sacca played overseas for a couple of seasons with the Barcelona Dragons in Spain.

Sacca is one of two linebacker commits for the Fighting Irish in the 2025 cycle along with Honolulu Punahou’s Ko’o Kia. The Irish are also in pursuit of Bradenton (Fla.) IMG Academy’s Nathaniel Owosu Boateng and San Juan Capistrano (Calif.) J Serra Catholic’s Madden Faraimo.
