Freezing Cold Takes retweets post calling out Hank Brown pre-game comments after getting benched
Nobody in sports is safe on social media from Freezing Cold Takes. Not even the players themselves, who will get called out for some of their comments. Auburn quarterback Hank Brown found out the hard way, being the latest victim of the famous X account on Saturday.
Brown was the Auburn starting quarterback to start the day and heading into the matchup, claimed he was ready to “dominate” Arkansas. These comments were off the backs of an impressive performance against New Mexico, the first start of his college career.
“It’s encouraging but I think I got a lot to build on from this week,” Brown said via an ESPN graphic. “I love when the competition level is raised, that’s when I’m playing my best. I’m excited for SEC play and I’m excited to dominate Arkansas.”
By halftime, Brown was out of the game and was benched in favor of Payton Thorne. Three interceptions forced head coach Hugh Freeze to make the change as Auburn had no points on the board. Thus leading to a timely retweet at Brown’s expense.
