Head coach James Franklin’s team is a six touchdown favorite over the Golden Flashes. As we saw two weeks ago when the Lions survived a scare against Bowling Green, there are no gimmies in college football. But, this is as close as it gets: Multiple media polls rank Kent State as the worst team in college football and head coach Kenni Burns’ side is aiming to bounce back from a 71-0 blowout loss at Tennessee last weekend.

“This is a complete football team,” Burns said this week. “And to go against West Virginia in the first game and and win as convincing as they did, and to do what they did against BG, who I think is a really, really good football team — we’ll have our hands full. We’ve got to play clean, [and] we’ve got to take it one play at a time. We’ve got to just get better and worry about ourselves and see if we can give ourselves a shot in the fourth quarter. But we will have a very uphill challenge again, facing another Top 10 team who is experienced as well.”
