Keelon Russell, Dakorien Moore shine in big Duncanville win

Duncanville smacked Waxahachie 41-17 Friday night behind stellar performances from Alabama five-star quarterback commit Keelon Russell and Oregon Five-Star Plus+ wide receiver commit Dakorien Moore.

Russell was 18-of-23 passing for 351 yards and six touchdowns before leaving with an injury in the third quarter, according to The Dallas Morning News. Russell said after the game that the injury was nothing serious.

The Crimson Tide commit is the nation’s No. 13 overall prospect, No. 3 quarterback and No. 6 recruit from Texas in the 2025 cycle according to the On3 Industry Ranking — a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. Russell committed to Alabama on June 4, flipping from SMU.

Coming into this week, Russell had thrown for 590 yards and eight touchdowns in the Panthers’ two previous games. He had also picked up 82 yards and a score on the ground.

Russell’s favorite target of the night was Oregon commit and No. 1 wide receiver Dakorien Moore. Moore reeled in eight passes for 147 yards and three touchdowns.

Moore, a onetime LSU pledge, committed to the Ducks on the Fourth of July.

Duncanville improved to 3-0 on the season — its win over Waxahachie following up victories against South Oak Cliff and St. Frances Academy (Md.).

The Panthers are the No. 1 team in Texas and No. 3 team in America, according to the On3 Massey Ratings.
