It was so nice he had to do it twice! Layne Riggs is a playoff spoiler once again, he wins back-to-back races in the NASCAR Truck Series. Riggs won at Milwaukee a few weeks ago, and now he’s a winner at Bristol.

The NASCAR legacy racer is making his father Scott Riggs proud. Layne has had his fair share of struggles this season. He took time to adapt to the Truck Series. Tonight, he looked like an old pro.

Once Riggs took the lead to start the final stage, that was it. He didn’t look back, held his own on all the restarts, and now he is a two-time winner in the Truck Series.

2025 is going to be major for this guy. Layne Riggs wins again!

Layne Riggs did not have a top-5 finish until the tenth race of the season. It was at North Wilkesboro where he first got the hang of this truck and this series. Since then, he has five top-5s, including two wins.

In the first nine races of the season, Riggs had an average finish of 23.33. It’s a major part of why he missed the playoffs. In the nine races since then, Riggs has an average finish of 11.44. That’s major.

Today’s win is also the fourth top-5 finish in a row for Layne Riggs and his No. 38 team. What a turnaround for Front Row Motorsports. Once they started clicking, Riggs started to lay down great finishes. Back-to-back wins heading to Kansas.

Layne Riggs holds off championship favorites

Tonight, Layne Riggs didn’t just win, he beat out the two favorites for the championship. This wasn’t a fluke win, the fast trucks didn’t get wrecked. Corey Heim and Christian Eckes were hounding Riggs the entire time, at least trying to.

While Riggs had more or less run off with the race late, second place was a dogfight. Rajah Caruth, Corey Heim, and Christian Eckes were all going back and forth. There were strong moves made from each driver, and it ended in a drag race between Heim and Caruth to the line.

Both Caruth and Heim scored stage wins. With Kansas on the schedule next week, the Truck Series drivers will have to adjust from short track racing. Earlier this season, Heim won the Kansas race, Eckes was third. Riggs finished P18 that day. Just a preview of what we could see next week.

Bristol is a great race track. These trucks usually put on a great show at Bristol and tonight was no different. Good showings from Corey Day and Connor Zilisch, two young Chevy drivers. William Sawalich was great, top-10 on the night. A good glimpse into the future of the sport tonight.
