Frankie Muniz announces additional NASCAR Truck Series starts for 2024

Frankie Muniz announces additional NASCAR Truck Series starts for 2024

For fans of Frankie Muniz, good news. The actor-turned-NASCAR driver has two more starts this season with Reaume Brothers Racing. Muniz has raced with RBR this season a few times with support from Ford Performance, he has another two starts.

Frankie Muniz returns to the track next week for Kansas, a date known for some time. However, he is hopping back in the truck for Homestead Miami and Phoenix. He will have support from More Core Drilling.

This year, Muniz has put together a slim schedule across the Xfinity and Truck Series. He will have two more races than he thought he would have.

It has not been easy going for Muniz in NASCAR. He has not raced in great equipment, he is trying to make up a learning curve that is more or less at a 90-degree angle. It is admirable to watch him live out his dreams, but he hasn’t had much to show for it.

When Frankie Muniz didn’t have mechanical issues in 2023, he was solid in the ARCA Menards Series. He was more or less the best car that wasn’t a Joe Gibbs or Venturini car.

At Kansas, Homestead, and Phoenix, Muniz will hope for better results than he has been getting. It is hard to come into NASCAR, or any sport, at a late age and try to make up lost ground and years of experience. Muniz is doing his best, getting laps, and trying to improve his racecraft.

He will get starts in the Mustang Challenge this year as well. He raced at COTA in a Dark Horse, trying his hand at sports cars. That might be a better route for him ultimately, but his love for stock cars is obvious.

Frankie Muniz hoping for better results

Again, with Rette Jones Racing, Frankie Muniz never shocked the world or had any races where he contended for a win. However, Muniz, against superior equipment, held his own when his car wasn’t on pit road for a mechanical issue.

When I watched Muniz in the ARCA Menards Series, I saw a driver who could run laps and do it clean. He had a knack for avoiding wrecks and had a higher IQ than many gave him credit for.

In his Truck and Xfinity Series starts, it feels as though the competition is too fast for him to even learn. And his equipment isn’t exactly capable of keeping up, either. So, it’s been hard to show what he’s learned and how talented he really is.

Frankie Muniz knows this isn’t an easy road. He knows he could use his fame, likely, to get better rides. But it seems that he wants to learn and come by his opportunities honestly. It’s admirable.
