Dallas Cowboys head coach Mike McCarthy shared some injury news on wide receiver CeeDee Lamb and cornerback Trevon Diggs ahead of the team’s battle against the Baltimore Ravens. McCarthy told reporters that Lamb and Diggs will be limited in practice on Thursday after missing practice on Wednesday. Lamb is dealing with an ankle injury, and Diggs has an injured foot.

Per Jon Machota of The Athletic, McCarthy said the injuries to Lamb and Diggs are not very serious, meaning it’s likely the two will play on Sunday. The injuries come as Lamb and Diggs played the majority of the snaps on their respective sides of the ball during the Cowboys’ loss to the New Orleans Saints on Sunday.

During the Week 2 game, Lamb caught four passes for 90 yards and one touchdown in the 44-19 loss, and Diggs notched five tackles (four solo). After the game, Lamb admitted the Cowboys didn’t play well in their second game of the year.

“New Orleans won the game. We played terrible. We didn’t play complementary football. The scoreboard says it all,” Lamb said, per CBS Sports. “We [Lamb and Prescott, the Cowboys offense as a whole] just got to execute. This game came down to execution. Who can execute the most, who can make the most plays, who could dominate the line of scrimmage and obviously win on the outside. That we didn’t do that, and they did.”

Diggs explained why the Cowboys fell flat against the Saints. “It was just unacceptable,” he said, per The Athletic. “I’m not going to make no excuses, but it’s unacceptable. We didn’t come to play today.”

Before the start of the season, Lamb signed a four-year, $136 million contract extension through the 2028 season. In his first two games of the year, the Oklahoma Sooners alum has caught nine passes for 151 yards and one touchdown.

Diggs is returning from a torn ACL he suffered during the early stages of the 2023 season. In his first two games, the former Alabama star has recorded 10 tackles, one interception and two passes defended.
