Top High School Football Games in Alabama

#8 Enterprise @ #1 Central Friday, Sept. 20
The defending state champion Red Devils haven’t lost a beat in 2024. They were dominant over their first three games, outscoring opponents by a combined score of 160-41. Their first true test of the season came last week against Dothan, a game they snuck out of with a close 42-35 win. It only gets harder from here though, with a top-10 Enterprise squad led by Power 4 commits Eric Winters, Zion Grady, and Andrew Purcell coming to town.

Carrollton (Ga.) @ #9 ParkerFriday, Sept. 20
The Thundering Herd boast a loaded roster that includes Five-Star Plus+ cornerback Na’eem Offord, 2026 top-100 prospect Vodney Cleveland, Auburn four-star defensive line commit Jourdin Crawford and Miami safety pledge Timothy Merritt. They’ve been nothing short of smothering in the early part of the season, taking the first three games by a combined score of 106-35. Week 4 was much the same with a 46-0 splattering of Mortimer Jordan. This week will present a much bigger challenge though, as they welcome Georgia’s No. 2-ranked team to Birmingham. The Trojans are stacked on both sides of the ball, headlined by five-star quarterback and USC commit Julian Lewis.

#3 Thompson @ #16 Vestavia HillsFriday, Sept. 20
After losing their season opener against Loganville (Ga.) Grayson, the 2023 7A state runners-up have reeled off three consecutive wins. First on the road against Nashville (Tenn.) Lipscomb Academy, then blitzing Tuscaloosa 47-7 before easily handling Oak Mountain 42-7 over the weekend. Vestavia Hills is finally catching its stride after starting 0-3 and is coming off a huge 49-17 romp over Tuscaloosa Hillcrest.

#14 Oxford @ #15 Mountain BrookFriday, Sept. 20
Led by Louisville quarterback commit Mason Mims on offense and South Carolina pledge Keenan Britt on defense, Oxford has made a huge jump into the top 15 in the state after a 4-0 start. They’ve yet to be tested by a squad as good as Mountain Brook, whose only loss of the season came in Week 2 against a red-hot Birmingham Parker team.

#18 Prattville @ #6 HooverFriday, Sept. 20
The Bucs have been on an early-season rollercoaster, beating Western to open the season, followed by a 39-37 loss to Spain Park the next week. They came back with a vengeance the following week by dominating a previously top-10 Hillcrest team 35-6. In one of their biggest games of the year in the state, they won a defensive battle 8-7 over No. 4 Hewitt-Trussville and now have cemented themselves as a legitimate state title contender. Prattville, meanwhile, is as hot as any team in the state after starting the season 4-0 and jumping into the top 25.
