Tim Tebow breaks down Tennessee-Oklahoma matchup in Week 4

Tim Tebow breaks down Tennessee-Oklahoma matchup in Week 4

If there’s one game Tim Tebow is ready for in Week 4, it’s Tennessee traveling to take on Oklahoma.

It’s hard to not agree when the No. 6 team in the country heads to Norman to play a squad ranked No. 15. Nico Iamaleava is the big story for the Volunteers, becoming one of the better quarterbacks in college football.

As far as if either of these teams are going to be legit threats to Texas, Georgia and Alabama in the SEC, Tebow said we could know following this game.

“Let’s find out this weekend after Tennessee and Oklahoma,” Tebow told On3. “I’m excited about Tennessee and Nico, these receivers, so many really good receivers there, they’re able to run the football. When that offense gets going, watch out. When you’re good at getting that first, first down, this is a dangerous offense, and so I’m really excited about Tennessee. Nico’s got a chance to just be very special, like nobody wants to play this team right now.

“And it’s gonna be fun to see, because Oklahoma’s got a really good defense. They’re figuring out a few things offensively with Jackson Arnold, the running game. Gavin Sawchuk, who’s a member of the Good Works Team, getting, you know, (Deion) Burks going at receiver. So they’re figuring it out. But this defense is real. So it’s probably like the first really big matchup of a really good offense and a really good defense going head to head, and I can’t wait for that.”

Defending Iamaleava and the Tennessee offense is no easy task, as Tebow pointed out. Heck, Oklahoma coach Brent Venables said his team is preparing for the biggest challenge of the 2024 campaign.

“It’ll be the biggest test that we’ve had to me offensively since we’ve been here,” Venables said, via SoonerScoop. “They’re really good. They’ve got very good players. They’ve recruited good players, some older guys that have been in the system, understand the system. And they’ve got size. They’ve got speed and they put tremendous pressure on you with their scheme, with their tempo and their ability to be precise. And then on top of that really good skill. So it’s really tough.”
