SEC Shorts goes all in on Georgia and Mark Stoops for Saturday’s game

SEC Shorts goes all in on Georgia and Mark Stoops for Saturday’s game

As Kentucky fans, we’re encouraged by the fact that the Cats almost beat No. 1 Georgia — albeit frustrated by how the upset slipped through our fingers. The Bulldogs left Lexington with the victory, but also some ridicule for how things went down.

The SEC Shorts comedy group went all in on Georgia for Saturday night’s performance, which cost them the No. 1 ranking in the AP Poll. This week’s video features the Bulldogs; the Texas Longhorns, the new No. 1 team in the country; and the four other SEC teams in the AP Top 10 in a board meeting. Mark Stoops’ decision to punt on 4th and 8 is addressed right from the top. A Georgia fan is shown as a clock ticks loudly in the background. The closed captions don’t do Stoops and the Cats any favors.

Slow clock ticking sound of the game clock running out as we all knew Kentucky was never getting that ball back,” the closed caption reads.

“Look, it was a road game at night in the SEC. It was always going to be a dogfight!” the Georgia fan protests.

As the rest of the table laughs at him, another caption pops up: group laughter sounds of South Carolina woodshedding those same Wildcats.

“You are entering the Thunderdome of…Kroger Field,” the Tennessee fan mocks.

“That was so trash,” the Missouri fan says. “And that’s coming from someone who had a 2nd and 59.”

“Hey, you did game plan for Mark Stoops to coach his way to the loss on his own so I respect that,” the Ole Miss fan adds.

Ouch. The meeting finally moves on to other teams, which is a reminder that Kentucky still has to play Texas and Ole Miss this season. As you might imagine, Arch Manning’s debut gets plenty of attention in the boardroom. Coming in for an injured Quinn Ewers, Manning threw for 223 yards and four touchdowns and had a 67-rushing touchdown in Texas’ 56-7 win over UTSA on Saturday.

At least the Cats aren’t part of the SEC dumpster fire meeting that takes place between Florida, Mississippi State, and Vanderbilt. Will the Grim Reaper come for Billy Napier before the Cats go to Gainesville on October 19?
