Texas vs. Louisiana-Monroe: Early point spread released, How to Watch
Texas will have to wait one more week before getting their SEC story written. Louisiana-Monroe is the final nonconference game of the season for the Longhorns, set to face off at Darrell K Royal-Texas Memorial Stadium on Saturday.
As expected, Texas has opened as a big favorite in the game. FanDuel has Texas as a 44.5-point favorite, with the total set at 53.5 points. If you want to get the Longhorns on the moneyline, you’ll have to wait as the odds are currently unavailable.
Steve Sarkisian could not have asked for a better start to the season with a 3-0 record. The latest win was against in-state foe UTSA. Colorado State and Michigan were the two openers as the Texas defense has given up just 19 points through three games.
On the flip side, Louisiana-Monroe seems to be improved from a year ago. They will be coming off a bye but already have two wins under their belt — just as many as the program had in 2023. Oddsmakers are not expecting any kind of upset but the Warhawks are playing solid football.

All eyes will be on Quinn Ewers‘ condition ahead of the game. The Longhorns’ standout QB left Texas’ Week 3 win over UTSA with an abdominal injury and is unlikely to play against Louisiana-Monroe, per ESPN’s Pete Thamel.
Nonetheless, Texas is far from doomed. Backup QB Arch Manning excelled in Ewers’ absence on Saturday, completing 9-of-12 passes for 223 yards and four touchdowns. Additionally, Manning showed off his wheels, recording a 67-yard touchdown run in his second offensive series.
Texas won’t be the only team with an exciting playmaker behind center. ULM is led by QB General Booty, who has collected 191 passing yards and a touchdown, without throwing an interception, through the team’s first two games.
