Marcus Spears, David Pollack react to Marvin Harrison Jr. Week 2 offensive explosion

“Marvin Harrison Jr with 3 targets early in the game unlike last week,” David Pollack wrote on Twitter. “How’s it going? 2 Tuddies & 83 yards. My fantasy team is thankful. Let’s go!”

Added former LSU superstar and current ESPN analyst Marcus Spears: “Harrison Jr on his way to 250 receiving bruh.”

It certainly seems that way. Through the first quarter alone, Marvin Harrison Jr. had recorded four catches for 130 yards and two touchdowns. No other receiver in the game had accounted for even 10 yards.

The production is a far cry from Harrison’s NFL debut a week ago.

In a loss to the Buffalo Bills, Marvin Harrison Jr. logged just three targets. He caught one pass for four yards. Hardly the kind of production you’d expect from a first-round pick.

And Harrison wasn’t just a first-round pick. He was the No. 4 overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft. That’s a guy you expect to put up big numbers and help your team right away.

In addition to his draft slot, Harrison also racked up all kinds of accolades at the college level.

In three years he caught 150 passes for 2,495 yards and 31 touchdowns, while also rushing for a score. He won the Biletnikoff Award for the nation’s top receiver in 2023, while he was a two-time unanimous All-American in 2022 and 2023.

Marvin Harrison Jr. was even a finalist for the Heisman Trophy in 2023.

If he keeps producing like he is early on Sunday morning, he’s sure to snag some elite accolades at the NFL level, too.
