The latest AP Top 25 rankings are in after Week 3 of college football and there were some shake ups.

College football loves to bring us chaos and we had a little bit of it this weekend. How these storylines will play out as the season progresses, remains to be seen.

Let’s dive into the latest AP Poll top 25 rankings following Week 3.

1. Texas

The Texas Longhorns made quite the statement this weekend: they have two very established quarterbacks. That’s what it seemed like going from Quinn Ewers to Arch Manning.

Manning filled in for the injured Ewers and threw for four touchdowns and ran for another. No. 1 recruit? Yup. Manning name? Yup. Great quarterback? Yeah, probably.

2. Georgia

Georgia? Yikes. What was that in Lexington? Is everything okay? Do we need to call someone? No? Okay.

In all seriousness, Georgia did escape with the win, regardless of Kentucky playing it too safe or not. This was a close call and surely Kirby Smart will rally the troops and bounce back from a less than stellar win.

3. Ohio State

Ohio State had a week off and got to watch the madness unfold at home. But they’ll return to action against Marshall this weekend.

Will Howard is solid, so is Caleb Downs on defense. Oh yeah, Quinshon Judkins is running the ball and freshman Jeremiah Smith might be the biggest thing since Jesus. (Get that Beatles reference?). Ohio State is still one of the best teams in the country.

4. Alabama

Alabama trounced Wisconsin in Madison over the weekend. Forget “Jump Around” because this was not “Sweet Home Wisconsin,” or something like that. The Badgers had no chance at a certain point, especially after the injury to Tyler Van Dyke.

Jalen Milroe accounted for five touchdowns and this performance definitely put him back on the Heisman map, if he wasn’t there already. Kalen DeBoer had his team rolling Saturday.

5. Ole Miss

Ole Miss just dominates teams at this rate. Good luck stopping this offense led by Jaxson Dart, who is surely soaring up draft boards at this point.

The 40-6 win over Wake Forest was just the latest example. Dart fired two touchdowns and 377 yards, so safe to say, he’s putting up absurd numbers.

6. Tennessee

Oh my, just stop the fight at this point. Tennessee beat Kent State 71-0 at home and man, it was over after the first quarter. 

Here’s the real question: can Tennessee do this against Oklahoma? History would say no, but man, the Volunteers have a grand total of 191 points and only gave up 13 in three games.

7. Missouri

Missouri put in an honest day’s work with a win over Boston College, which came in with a lot of hype. Bill O’Brien had them rolling, but it was the Tigers who were victorious.

This could be a sign of Mizzou keeping the train rolling this year after a Cotton Bowl victory last season. Vanderbilt is next as Missouri opens up SEC play.

8. Miami

Miami rolled over Ball State 62-0 and it was no contest. Cam Ward threw for five touchdowns to continue his Heisman campaign.

At this rate, Miami can truly prove itself as a legit national title contender if the Hurricanes keep the pace up for a few more weeks. It’s buzzing down in Coral Gables.

9. Oregon

Oregon bounced back in a big way by beating rival Oregon State on the road. It was a dominating display.

This is the Oregon we’re probably going to see the rest of the year. The Ducks can certainly challenge Ohio State, but now they’ll have to string a few of these games together to prove it.

10. Penn State

Penn State had the week off and it was probably much needed after a close call against Bowling Green. So what team is the real Penn State?

Is it the one that went on the road and handled West Virginia or last week’s version? That’s to-be-determined but this team is going to be given the benefit of the doubt.
