4-star SF Zion Green discusses his recruitment

4-star SF Zion Green discusses his recruitment

Zion Green came in at No. 12 in the recent 2027 On3 top 50 debut. The 6-foot-8 wing is entering his sophomore season at Philadelphia (PA) Imhotop Charter.

“I feel like I can play as a scorer or a passer and get my team involved,” Green told On3. “If I’m not having a good game, I’m still getting my team involved, you know. I’ve been in the gym every day working on all my game. My pull-ups, my passes and reads, my conditioning, play out of the pick-and-roll, I’ve been working on everything.

Green’s dad, Rodney Green, played at LaSalle from 2006-2010. He scored 2,723 career points, averaging between 12.6 and 18.5 all four years of college. He also averaged 3.2 assists, 5.0 rebounds, and shot 47.3 percent from the field. The 6-foot-5 guard played overseas for 13 years.

“I watch a lot of my pops, Rodney Green who played at LaSalle,” Green said. “I also watch a lot of Bones Hyland and Brandon Ingram. I watch how they move, like with Bones, his handle, and how he can get where he wants to go.”

“Right now, I have offers from Villanova, Syracuse, Michigan, Penn State, Maryland, and some others,” Green said. “So far Villanova is the only campus I’ve been on.”

“I liked the facilities there, for sure,” Green said. “I’ve been to team camp there, and a game, but I haven’t like toured the campus yet or anything. They have a good crowd there and their gym stood out to me. Villanova is close to home for me and I know my family would be able to come to every home game.”

In Zion Green’s words

“I want to play for a program that has toughness and gritiness,” Green said. “A school that plays hard. Really, I want to play for a school that is going to get me to the NBA the fastest. Trust is a big thing with me, fit. But my goal is to play in the league, so whatever it is going to take to do that.”
