No. 2 Texas vs. UTSA live updates: Two Longhorns expected to miss Saturday’s game
The Horns host the Roadrunners for the second time.
AUSTIN, Texas — The non-conference season marches on for the No. 2 Texas Longhorns as head coach Steve Sarkisian’s program tries to avoid a letdown against the UTSA Roadrunners at Darrell K Royal-Texas Memorial Stadium on Saturday in Austin following last week’s dominant win over the then-No. 10 Michigan Wolverines.
Head coach Jeff Traylor and his Roadrunners are in the opposite position — trying to bounce back from the 49-10 destruction by the Bobcats in San Marcos, arguably the worst loss of Traylor’s tenure in San Antonio.
Texas is favored by 35.5 points, according to FanDuel.
Pregame
The biggest storyline immediately preceding the third non-conference game is the status of two Longhorns — junior running back Jaydon Blue and sophomore safety Jelani McDonald.

Blue injured his right ankle in Ann Arbor before returning late in the first half, but Texas could be cautious with its starter after suffering two season-ending injuries at the position during preseason camp. If McDonald is banged up, it was not immediately clear what’s ailing him, although Horns247’s Chip Brown reported that both will miss the game.
